Andrew Gold vs. transgender people

Andrew Gold is a writer, filmmaker, podcaster, and anti-transgender activist. Gold is associated with anti-trans hate group Genspect.

Background

Andrew David Gold was born on March 21, 1989 (some sources give February) in Watford, England. After attending St. John’s Preparatory and Senior School, Gold earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Leeds in 2011, spending a year of college studying at Université de Montpellier Paul-Valéry.

In 2011, Gold worked on marketing for French firm Biobble, then at Les Dossiers d’Aquitaine. After working as a rights assistant at HarperCollins Publishers in 2011 and 2012, Gold briefly wrote about football for FourFourTwo before joining Newsquest Media Group to write for the Watford Observer and St Albans Review. In 2012, Gold worked for The Mirror for a few months, then at The Sun Online. In 2014 to 2015, Gold worked as a documentary producer at Studio Baires for projects at HBO and Fusion. In 2016, Gold made and hosted videos for Argentina’s Fablab Channel on TV5Monde.

In 2018, Gold sold a documentary to the BBC. After producing Exorcism: The Battle for Young Minds, Gold claims that 50 production companies rejected various pitches.because they would not allow Gold to be the presenter on potential projects. Gold claims this was because of DEI initiatives at BBC and elsewhere.

In May 2020, Gold launched the podcast On the Edge with Andrew Gold. It was later renamed heretics. Gold founded On The Edge Productions in 2023.

Gold has consistently platformed anti-trans guests since 2020. Guests have included
