Kevin Jones, formerly known as Evelyn Jones, is an American musician, electrician, and ex-transgender activist. Jones operates the group Detrans Circle and has appeared at events and in media to discuss ex-trans activism.
Background
Kevin Robert Jones was born in 1991. Jones earned an associates degree from Anoka-Ramsey Community College in 2010 and a bachelor’s degree from University of Minnesota Duluth in 2014. Jones made a gender transition around this time and used the name Evelyn Belle Jones. After earning a master’s degree from The University of British Columbia in 2016, Jones enrolled in a doctoral program at Arizona State University School of Music. Jones has since made additional gender changes and reportedly works as an electrician.
Ex-trans activism
Jones operates Detrans Circle, described as “a free peer support group for those who have been affected by gender transition personally or within their family. Our aim is to cultivate an environment where individuals can open up about how the concept of gender transition has affected their lives. We believe that relationships are an important foundation for healing and have created this space for individuals to form meaningful connections and give and receive support mutually.”
On September 12, 2024 Jones appeared on a panel convened by Partners for Ethical Care. Announced ex-trans activists in attendance were Soren Aldaco, Laura Becker, “Chloe Cole,” “Nicolas Blooms,” Kevin Jones, and Airiel Salvatore.
Jones was a signatory on the amicus curiae brief submitted by Terry Lee Fowler on behalf of “detransitioners” in the Supreme Court’s Skrmetti case that banned trans healthcare for minors.
In 2025, Jones was a signatory on an ex-transgender endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services.
