The Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy is a peer-reviewed publication that is an academic hub for anti-transgender activists.
Background
The Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy was launched in fall 1974 by founding editors Clifford J. Sager and Helen Singer Kaplan. The journal was originally published by Brunner/Mazel, a New York house specializing in psychotherapy and family-therapy titles, before passing to Taylor & Francis/Routledge.
Under founding editors Sager and Kaplan, Raul Schiavi served as editor-in-chief. In 1998, that role passed to Robert Taylor Segraves.
