Lauren Schwartz vs. transgender people

Lauren Schwartz is an American psychiatrist and anti-transgender activist. Schwartz is a Senior Fellow of anti-trans group Do No Harm and a member of FAIR in Medicine, Therapy First, and anti-trans hate group Genspect.

Background

Schwartz earned a medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed residency in psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma’s Health Sciences Center. Schwartz also trained in psychoanalytic theory through the Oklahoma Society for Psychoanalytic Studies.

Anti-trans activism

In July 2025, Schwartz was a panelist at the 2025 US Federal Trade Commission anti-trans workshop.

Schwartz was also lead signatory of a citizen petition to the US Food and Drug Administration with the goal to restrict or ban off-label use of prescription hormones for trans women and transfeminine people.
