LGB Courage Coalition vs. gender diverse youth

LGB Courage Coalition is an American anti-transgender nonprofit. They were incorporated as LGBT Courage Coalition and later became an LGB separatist organization after all the trans members left in October 2024. They are also known as the Courage Coalition.

The group “directly advocates for evidence-based, compassionate responses to those experiencing distress about their sexed bodies. We support regulations for puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical intervention.”

Background

LGBT Courage Coalition started as a Substack group blog in 2023. It is dedicated to criticizing gender affirming healthcare for trans and gender diverse youth. Despite the group blog’s name, many involved do not have the courage to use their names. It includes a number of LGB separatists and conservative trans activists.

In 2024, the organization was granted nonprofit status by the IRS under the name LGBT Courage Coalition. In October 2024, the trans men involved in the group lefgt, and the group rebranded as LGB Courage Coalition. Following the rebrand, they updated their mission:

“The LGB Courage Coalition is a lesbian and gay advocacy group committed to promoting evidence-based medical care for all, ending the medicalization of sex nonconformity, safeguarding homosexual rights, and building a pathway back for LGB individuals who have undergone medicalization.”

Members

According to their inaugural post, the group was originally made up of conservative trans people and gender critical gay, lesbian, and bi people who seek to separate trans issues from LGB issues.

Here is how they describe themselves:

“Plus additional coalition members who will be contributing pieces to the Substack, but at this time are choosing to remain anonymous and not be publicly named.”

People and groups who have authored or co-authored pieces include:

2025 “Born in the Right Body” event

Attendees included New Hampshire State Representative Lisa Mazur, who posted about the event, and “Sidewalk Steve,” who confronted protesters.

TransMIT organized a protest that had an estimated crowd of 150 protesters.
