Raine McLeod vs. transgender people

Raine McLeod is a Canadian proprty manager and anti-transgender activist. McLeod is founder of Alberta Radical Feminists and Alberta Women’s Human Rights Commission. <cLeod also founded the nonprofit Alberta Women’s Advocacy Association. McLeod is former national coordinator for Women’s Declaration International Canada, and a steering committee member of Canadian Women’s Sex-Based Rights (caWsbar).

Background

Laura “Raine” McLeod was born to Ron McLeod (died 2022) and Brenda McLeod (died 2023) and has a sibling, Bobbie.

McLeod is a property services coordinator for Maple Leaf Property Management. According to a supplied bio on the caWsbar site, “After spending 15 years working a corporate desk job, she has returned to school to pursue a degree in Honours English with a double minor in communications and political science.”

Anti-trans activism

In February 2019, McLeod founded the Alberta Radical Feminists group on Facebook.

In September 2020, McLeod launched a registered non-profit called the Alberta Women’s Advocacy Association.

From 2020 to 2022, McLeod served as national co-ordinator of Women’s Declaration International Canada.

On March 8, 2024, caWsbar’s event Reality Based Women Unite was held in Toronto. The event was significantly funded by right-wing civil liberties group The Democracy Fund and featured Trish Oliver, Amy Hamm, April Hutchinson, Eva Kurilova, Raine McLeod, Heather Mason, Meghan Murphy, and Linda Blade.
