André Van Mol is an American physician and anti-transgender extremist. Van Mol is affiliated with a number of anti-trans groups and initiatives:

Van Mol has written several articles for Public Discourse, a publication by anti-trans group Witherspoon Institute.

Van Mol has published with other anti-trans activists, including Michael Laidlaw, Quentin Van Meter, Paul Hruz, William Malone, Miriam Grossman, Paul McHugh, Christopher Rosik, Jeffrey E Hansen, and Christopher W. Snyder.

Background

André Van Mol was born in July 1960. Van Mol earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1998. Van Mol completed a medical residency at Charleston Naval Hospital in South Carolina and later trained as a flight surgeon at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute.

Van Mol serves as an elder at Bethel Church in Redding, California. Van Mol has also taught bioethics at the affiliated Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.

Van Mol is married to Evelyn Van Mol (born 1969), who also served in the Navy. In addition to having two biological children, the Van Mols have fostered nine children and adopted two of them.

Anti-trans activism

In 2022, Van Mol was paid as a consultant on the 2022 Florida Department of Health anti-trans guidance created as a pretext for banning Medicaid coverage of trans healthcare for residents of Florida.

In 2023, Van Mol was revealed to have been involved in behind-the-scenes efforts to impact trans rights in Idaho, according to a leak provided by Elisa Shupe.

In 2024, Van Mol signed an open letter by FAIR in Medicine condemning the American Psychiatric Association for publishing the 2023 book Gender-Affirming Psychiatric Care. 

In 2025, Van Mol signed a citizen petition by Lauren Schwartz submitted to the US Food and Drug Administration with the goal to restrict or ban off-label use of prescription hormones for trans women and transfeminine people.

Van Mol was cited in the 2025 Trump Administration US HHS report attacking gender-affirming care, created as a pretext for banning healthcare for trans and gender diverse youth.
