Moral Revolution vs. transgender people
Moral Revolution is an American Christian sexuality and morality ministry closely associated with Bethel Church in Redding, California. Members Ken Williams and Elizabeth Woning co-founded ex-gay ministry CHANGED Movement.
They sell a video course titledThe Trans Talk: Guiding Our Kids Through the Confusion.
Background
On their website, Kris Vallotton states, “I founded Moral Revolution in 2009 after the success of my Moral Revolution book,” first published in 2008 as Purity: The New Moral Revolution.
During the 2010s, the organization increasingly addressed sex and gender minorities alongside its broader sexual-purity message. Speakers including ex-gay activists Ken Williams and Elizabeth Woning became associated with these subjects through their CHANGED Movement.
By the 2020s, Moral Revolution expanded explicitly into contemporary LGBTQ and gender-identity debates. Its programming included discussions of LGBTQ identity, coming out, Pride, and transgender-related subjects such as “gender ideology,” social transition, puberty blockers, medical transition, and the PROTECT Kids Act.
The Trans Talk
Moral Revolution sells a video course titledThe Trans Talk: Guiding Our Kids Through the Confusion. They claim to answer the following questions:
- What should you believe about God and sexuality and the LGBT topic?
- Did God create people to be LGBT?
- How does God view the LGBT community? How should we?
- How do I love people without affirming them?
- How do I disagree without being a biggot [sic]?
- What do I need to know about transgender confusion?
- What’s happening at school? Pop culture?
- Can a transgender-identifying person change and find freedom?
- What are some common points in a transgender person’s story?
- When, if ever, should I use their preferred pronouns?
- What if my child’s classmate/peer says they’re trans?
- What if my child says they’re okay with people being trans?
- What if my child says they are trans?
