Eagle Forum vs. transgender people

Eagle Forum is an American conservative nonprofit opposed to transgender rights. Eagle Forum opposes transgender youth, transgender athletes, and Planned Parenthood.

Background

In 1967, anti-feminist activist Phyllis Schlafly launched the Eagle Trust Fund to fund conservative causes. In response to the proposed Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) in 1972, Schlafly founded Stop ERA and The Eagle Forum Newsletter. In 1975, Stop ERA was renamed the Eagle Forum.

Its political action committee, The Eagle Forum Education and Legal Defense Fund, was organized in 1981.
