‘Human Events’ vs. transgender people

Human Events is a conservative American publication that publishes consistently anti-transgender content.

Background

Human Events was launched by publisher Henry Regnery on February 2, 1944 as a weekly publication focused on foreign policy. Its founding editors were Felix Morley, William Henry Chamberlin, and Frank Hanighen. Following World War II, it became a prominent anti-communist publication. In 1964, Human Events endorsed presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. The publication became closely associated with Ronald Reagan after Reagan moved from acting into politics.

Eagle Publishing, which also owned Regnery Publishing, acquired Human Events in 1993.

The humanevents.com domain was registered in 2000. Human Events launched the website in 2006. Also in 2006, anti-trans blog RedState was acquired by Eagle Publishing.

Human Events shifted to a digital-only group blog in 2013. In January 2014, Eagle Publishing was acquired by Salem Media Group.

In March 2019, Raheem Kassam and Will Chamberlain purchased Human Events from Salem Media Group. In 2022, Human Events’ parent company, the Human Events Media group, acquired the Canadian anti-trans group blog The Post Millennial.

In 2025, JTN Networks, the parent company of right-wing blog Just the News, acquired Human Events and The Post Millennial.

Podcast

Human Events also produces the podcast Human Events Daily, hosted by senior editor Jack Posobiec. Anti-trans guests have included Mike Cernovich, Charles Cornish-Dale [as “Raw Egg Nationalist”], Libby Emmons, Laurie Stalberg Gigliotti [as “Peachy Keenan”], Alex Jones, Charlie Kirk, Michael Knowles, James Lindsay, Andy Ngo, James O’Keefe, Mary Margaret Olohan, Drew Pinsky, Paula Scanlan, Ashley St. Clair, and Eva Vlaardingerbroek.
