Anti-trans activism
In November 2020, Merched Cymru submitted evidence regarding proposed changes to the Gender Recognition Act.
In 2022, a small group of protesters attempted to disrupt Cardiff Pride before police intervened. Signs included anti-trans slogans like “Transactivism erases lesbians.” Organizer Angela Wild of Get The L Out said Merched Cymru, Wales Women’s Rights Network and LGB Alliance were also involved.
In April 2026 Merched Cymru was a signatory on an open letter to the British Prime Minister demanding action following the Supreme Court’s anti-trans ruling in a case brought by For Women Scotland.
