Ron Langevin vs. transgender people

Ron Langevin is a Canadaian psychologist and anti-transgender activist. Langevin was affiliated with the anti-trans Clarke Institute of Psychiatry and has coauthored work with other anti-trans writers, including Kurt Freund and Betty Steiner.

Background

Ronald Lindsay AndrĂ© “Ron” Langevin was born on September 28, 1940 in Montreal. Langevin earned a doctorate from University of Toronto in 1970.

Langevin is the founding editor of Annals of Sex Research, now titled Sexual Abuse. Langevin’s research on sexuality questioned the effectiveness of conversion practices for sexual orientation. Langevin has hypothesized a correlation between sex offneding an traumatic brain injury. Langevin is a founding member of the International Association for the Treatment of Sexual Offenders (IATSO).

Anti-trans activism

In the 1970s and 1980s, Langevin published several works about transsexual people and crossdressers.
