Laura Wiley Haynes / Laura Collector vs. transgender people

.

Laura Wiley Haynes, also known as Laura Haynes Collector, is an American realtor and anti-transgender activist. Haynes has worked with anti-trans hate group Genspect and helped write a 2024 brief to the Supreme Court in support of Tennessee’s state ban on trans healthcare for young people. Haynes was suspended from Twitter for anti-trans views, later reinstated by Elon Musk following its purchase and rebranding as X.

Note: for the American Christian anti-trans psychologist who retired in 2018, see Laura Haynes.

Anti-trans activism

Haynes was a signatory on a 2024 amicus curiae brief prepared by Terry Lee Fowler and presented to the US Supreme Court in US v. Skrmetti, a case challenging Tennessee’s ban on trans healthcare for young people. That brief describes Haynes as a “desister & section co-author.”
