Christina Ellingsen vs. transgender people

Christina Ellingsen is a Norwegian anti-transgender activist. Ellingsen is affiliated with Women’s Declaration International and is a leader of their Norway branch, WDI Norge (fomerly WHRC Norge).

Ellingsen founded Matriarken Forlag [Matriarch Publishing]. Tonje Gjevjon is desk manager. They sell merchandise and books, including Fremtiden er ikke lenger hva den pleide å være [The future is no longer what it used to be] by photographer Marianne Rovas Olsen.

Anti-trans activism

Ellingsen has appeared on the Women’s Voices podcast hosted by Myra Pearson aka “Genevieve Gluck”

In 2022, Ellingsen was investigated by Norwegian police under the country’s hate-crime statutes, which had recently added protections based on gender identity. Ellingsen made a series of tweets criticizing a transgender activist and questioning the legitimacy of trans identities. In December 2022, Eliingsen reported that the charges were dropped.

Ellingsen and WDI have also been involved in press council (PFU) complaints regarding media coverage and commentary about their positions.

Ellingsen has appeared on podcasts by other anti-trans activists, including Feminist Current by Meghan Murphy, Savage Minds by Julian Vigo, and The Mess We’re In with Graham Linehan.
