Ann Coulter vs. transgender people

Ann Coulter is a conservative American author, polemicist, media personality, and anti-transgender activist. Coulter has made many anti-trans statements over a long career.

Background

Ann Hart Coulter was born on December 8, 1961 in New York City and raised primarily in New Canaan, Connecticut. Coulter earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in 1984 and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1988.

After law school, Coulter clerked for Judge Pasco Bowman II of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. In the early 1990s, Coulter worked as a lawyer in private practice and later served as a staff member for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee during the administration of President George H. W. Bush.

Coulter began gaining national attention in the late 1990s as a frequent guest on television political programs.

Since the early 2000s, Coulter has written a nationally distributed syndicated column. Coulter has been a regular speaker at political events and universities and has frequently appeared on cable news programs. Coulter’s career has been marked by sustained public controversy.
