Ali Ceesay vs. transgender people

Ali Ceesay is a British anti-transgender activist. Ceesay was a director of Woman’s Place UK and is associated with FiLiA.

Background

Ali Ceesay was born in July 1979. Ceesay attended Wymondham College and University of Leeds. According to a self-submitted biography: “A background in organising within the migrant solidarity movement, in recent years she has been focused on women’s spaces and services starting the RISE UP! campaign, Brighton Women’s Liberation Collective & Sisters Salon.”

Anti-trans activism

In July 2018, Ceesay was part of a team who organised a Woman’s Place UK meeting in Brighton. Speakers included Kathleen Stock, ex-trans activist Gill Smith, Helen Saxby, and Ruth Serwotka.

In September 2021, Ceesay was involved in a Labour Women’s Declaration event featuring Tonia Antoniazzi, Emma Hilton, Jon Pike, Cathy Devine, Jen Izaakson, Shereen Benjamin, and Ceri Williams.
