Restore Childhood vs. transgender people

Restore Childhood is an American “parental rights” organization involved in anti-transgender activism. They maintain the Substack group blog of the same name.

Background

Restore Childhood was developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, opposing school closures and public health policies affecting children. It subsequently expanded its mission to encompass a broader range of issues related to childhood development, parental rights, and public policy.

The organization was formally established as a nonprofit corporation in 2022 and received recognition as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization under Employer Identification Number 88-1595851.

By 2023, Restore Childhood had broadened its advocacy to children’s mental health, educational policy, parental consent, and debates surrounding trans healthcare for minors.

Anti-trans activism

Restore Childhood has platformed a number of anti-trans figures, including Maia Abbruzzese (as “Maia Poet”), Lisa Selin Davis, Eithan Haim, Kristopher Kaliebe, Maud Maron, Moms for Liberty, and Stephanie Winn.

In 2024, Restore Childhood set up the website Gender Toolkit and published the pamphlet “An Urgent Conversation: What to know about children, gender, and school policy.”

In 2025, Restore Childhood published a pamphley by ex-trans extremist Maia Abbruzzese titled “How to Guide Your Child Beyond Gender Identity.”
