Iseult White vs. transgender people

Iseult White is a business executive, therapist, and anti-transgender activist. White is affiliated with anti-trans hate group Genspect.

Background

Iseult C. White was born on February 22, 1965. White attended Trinity College London, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1986 and a master’s degree in 1989.

White worked in Silicon Valley before retraining as a psychotherapist. White founded Catalyst Solutions, handled marketing at Rococo Software and Mapflow, then did compliance work at Aviva.

In 2014 White earned a master’s degree from Dublin Business School, with a thesis on “energy psychology.” White founded Iseult White Executive Coaching Consulting Psychotherapy.

Philanthropy has included work at Ranelagh Multi-Denominational School (part of White’s founding of RMDS School Childcare), Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, One Family, and Pobal.

White has lived in the Donnybrook neighborhood of Dublin and has two stepchildren and two younger children with spouse Bernard. White described their family as “two daughters, […] my adult children, […] and their father.”

White has served as a lecturer at Dublin Business School.

Anti-transgender activism

In 2021 White appeared on an Irish Women’s Lobby panel with Lisa McKenzie and anti-trans activist Meghan Murphy. While the panel was ostensibly on free speech, the argument was centered on preventing “gender critical” views from being labeled hate speech.

In 2021 White wrote:

In the context of transgender identities being enshrined in law, I don’t think we have a clear definition of gender or transgender identity. Nor have we put in the work to understand the potential conflicts with women’s rights.

For stating this opinion, I have been called a transphobic terf.

On the other hand, I have also been called a sex traitor because I support self-id for transgender adults, and I support medical transition for transgender youth in the context of holistic care that takes into account any complex presenting issues.
