Tina Descovich vs. transgender people

Tina Descovich is an American marketer, publicist, and anti-transgender activist. Descovich is a co-founder of anti-trans extremist group Moms for Liberty.

Background

Tina Chwazik Descovich was born in June of 1974. Descovich earned a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University in 1997. Descovich worked in marketing at CCG Systems from 1999 to 2001, L3 Communcations from 2001 to 2002, and Northrop Grumman from 2003 to 2008. In 2008, Descovich began freelancing as a communications consultant. In 2011, Descovich began working as and independent distributor for cacao brewer Choffy. In 2014 to 2015, Descovich managed events for The National Air, Sea, and Space Foundation’s Melbourne Air & Space Show, as well as handling media relations for Chatbooks.

From 2016 to 2020, Descovich served on the Brevard County School Board, representing District 3. Descovich ran for re-election and lost in the primary on August 18, 2020.

Descovich and spouse Derek Descovich, a retired executive at Northrop Grumman, are raising five children.

Anti-trans activism

Following the unsuccessful re-election bid in 2020, Descovich began discussing the creation of what became Moms for Liberty. In 2021, Descovich co-founded Moms for Liberty with Tiffany Justice and Bridget Ziegler.

In September 2023, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Descovich to the Florida Commission on Ethics.

In 2026, Descovich stated: “When President Donald Trump signed an executive order against transgender athletes last year, he took a moment to thank Tina Descovich, co-founder and CEO of Moms for Liberty.”

In 2026, the Associated Press reported:

Moms for Liberty co-founder Tina Descovich has been to the White House about a dozen times this administration. She was there when Trump signed the executive order against transgender athletes. She sat alongside CEOs of Google and IBM to weigh in on AI and education policy. She was at Melania Trump’s technology summit last week and has delivered more than 250 complaints against schools over transgender sports and bathroom policies directly to the Justice Department. She said her group has “a seat at the table in so many policy discussions throughout the administration.”
