In 2026, Feichtinger published an article in Catholic publication Communio that makes the following claims about trans healthcare for young people:

  • Adolescent gender identity is not necessarily settled
  • Feichtinger favors “ergebnisoffene Begleitung” [open-ended support] over affirmative models of care
  • Feichtinger claims 85% of young people “desist” from a trans identity
  • Feichtinger believes the rise in trans-identified youth may be caused by “soziale Ansteckung” [social contagion], psychiatric comorbidity, and autism
  • Feichtinger believes puberty blockers and medical transition for minors leads to higher rates of persistence
  • Feichtinger believes medical transition can have serious long-term consequences
