Kalvin Garrah and transgender people

Kalvin Garrah is an American transgender media figure. Garrah became known for creating videos promoting conservative views about transgender people, especially transmedicalism. Garrah collaborated with a number of conservative and anti-transgender creators, including Blaire White, Benjamin Boyce, “GAMI,” “TafTaj,” and others.

Background

Kalvin Garrah was born in July of 2000. Garrah earned an associate’s degree from Howard Community College in 2021, then attended University of Baltimore, earning a bachelor’s degree in 2024 and expecting a master’s degree in 2026.

In 2024 Garrah interned at St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center before being named a graduate fellow at the Schaefer Center for Public Policy.

Controversy

Garrah began a YouTube channel as an adolescent, eventually growing into a prominent trans creator on the platform. Garrah had hundreds of thousands of subscribers before stepping back following backlash. In a summary of Garrah’s controversies, YouTuber CopsHateMoe chronicles several specific moments:

  • mocking marginalized trans individuals and misgendering them in aggressive contexts
  • a 22ā€‘minute video targeting an autistic trans personā€”that werenā€™t just moments of critique but caused real trauma.
  • Brennen Beckwith released a ā€œBreaking My Silenceā€ series detailing emotional harm from Kalvinā€™s mocking tone and comments.
  • Petitions circulated, calling for YouTube to take action.
  • Moe reads from a GoFundMe excerpt from “Lars,” describing serious psychological consequences: hospitalizations, suicidal ideation, and lasting paranoia that “Lars” blames on Garrah’s videos.

Garrah eventually put out an apology video.
