Katie Coblentz / Katie Anderson and transgender people

Katie Coblentz is an American ex-transgender activist. Coblentz gets money and attention by making it harder for others to receive trans healthcare.

Background

Katie Anderson grew up in Lowell, Massachusetts with both parents and a younger sibling.

Katie Coblentz made a medical transition as an adult and later had regret. Coblentz started testosterone injections at 19, had top surgery at
age 20, and a hysterectomy and oophorectomy at age 24. Coblentz continued testosterone for about 6.5 years, until around December 2021.

Coblentz now speaks at churches about how baptism was life-changing.

Lawsuit

As part of an anti-trans strategy of litigation brought by ex-trans activists, Cobletz filed a $25 million federal tort in February 2025 against Fenway Health and others.

According to the lawsuit, Coblentz experienced the following:

  • “struggled with social interactions”
  • “found it difficult to make friends”
  • “anxiety”
  • “Unspecified Anxiety Disorder”
  • “Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder”
  • “Autism Spectrum Disorder”
  • possible “comorbid attention deficit issues”
  • “gender-identity issues”
  • “had long hair and wore pants and felt confusion and distress”
  • “did not talk to people much”
  • “suicidal ideation”
  • was not interested “in having genetic children”

According to the compaint, Coblents experienced the following during and after transition:

  • “an artery being cut during the procedure” (hysterectomy/oophorectomy)
  • “extreme physical, psychological, and emotional injury”
  • “idiopathic pelvic pain”
  • “expressed interest in detransitioning” in around July 2021
  • “prescribed estradiol” in July 2021
  • In March 2022 at a different provider “decided to reverse from male to female” and was again “prescribed estradiol”
  • “diminished mental capacity—including her anxiety, OCD, autism, and potential attention deficit issues”
  • l”oss of normal use of the body”
  • “loss of body parts”
  • “pain and suffering”
  • “anguish”
  • “loss of enjoyment of life”
  • “medical and other expenses”
  • “economic damages in the form of lost income, earning capacity and benefits”
