Karlyn Borysenko vs. transgender people

Karlyn Borysenko is an American psychologist and anti-transgender activist who appeared on anti-trans “drama” podcasts Blocked and Reported, Calmversations, and TRIGGERnometry. Borysenko has also appeared with Zuby and Jennifer Friend and has promoted the ex-transgender movement.

Background

Karlyn Borysenko earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston University in 2003, a master’s degree from Norwich University in 2007, and a doctorate from online correspondence school Capella University in 2017. While earning the doctorate, Borysenko worked at Eduventures from 2012 to 2014 and founded Zen Workplace in 2012.

In 2022, Borysenko ran for governor of New Hampshire as a Libertarian. Borysenko got 2,772 votes (0.4%), placing fourth.

According to Blocked and Reported, Borysenko was “red-pilled” by a group of knitters:

First, she was a Democrat…until she was forced out of the movement by a gang of roving far-left knitters.Then she joined the Republicans…until they turned their back on her for repeatedly trying to “align” her “chakras” with a (very uncomfortable) male cowriter, and saying that a certain Austrian painter went to heaven. Now she’s a Libertarian… and the Greens are looking nervously her way.

Anti-trans activism

In 2021, Borysenko founded Decode The Left, an organization “that exposes far-left extremism using their own materials.” Many of Borysenko’s videos and posts discuss transgender people, drag, and queer identities in a critical way.

In 2021, Borysenko joined a conservative panel with John Doyle, Blaire White, and Lauren Witze, who attacked White mid-panel.

In 2023, Borysenko was critical of Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism (FAIR). Via The New Yorker:

Some of the complaints started appearing online. Gabrielle Clark, a Black Texas mom who claimed that her twelfth grader was required to identify himself by his race in a class, did a YouTube interview with Karlyn Borysenko, an anti-woke activist, to talk about her experience with FAIR: she asserted that the organization, which had raised money for a lawsuit on her behalf, asked her to remove positive references to Donald Trump from her Twitter feed. (Bartning denies this.) Borysenko published a series of posts on Substack about FAIR, insinuating that the organization was sketchy. “There is no real anti-woke movement,” she wrote to me in an e-mail. “There are just a lot of organizations competing for money and media attention, constantly infighting and throwing each other under the bus. FAIR seemed to want to rule the space and tried to get as many big names associated with them as they could.”
