Sarah Wong and transgender people

Sarah Wong is a Dutch photographer and visual artist whose work centers on themes of awareness, identity, and transformation. Wong published a book on gender diverse youth.

Background

Sarah Julia Wong studied at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, earning a degree in photography in 1990.

In 2003, Wong began “Inside Out: Portraits of Cross-Gender Children,” a photo book chronicling Dutch transgender youth.

In summer 2018, Wong resumed the project with crowdfunding campaign for The Follow Up: 2003–2020.
