Gerard Kelly vs. transgender people

Gerard Kelly is a British education reporter, publicist, and anti-transgender activist. Kelly is an advisor to anti-trans group Sex Matters.

Background

Gerard Anthony Kelly was born in November 1960. Kelly was an editor at Times Higher Education (THE) and Times Educational Supplement (now TES or Tes).

In 2014, Kelly founded Gerard Kelly & Partners, now known as GK & Partners, Mark Cooper and Andrew Moss.

Anti-trans activism

On a Sex Matters profile, Kelly stated:

“As a gay man, I’m concerned that gender ideology is undermining the rights and protections we fought for. As a former journalist, I’m appalled at how it’s used to stifle debate and silence women. And as someone who has been involved with the education sector for decades, I’m furious at the corrosive effect gender ideology is having on young people’s health, intellectual curiosity and wellbeing. That’s why I think sex matters.”
