“Edie Wyatt” is the pen name of Christine Chehade, an Australian writer and anti-transgender activist. Chehade says, “My specific interests is in the way governments are removing the rights of women by using gender identity ideology to redefine the legal vessel that holds all the rights of women, sex.”
Background
Christine Edie Chehade was born in 1971 in Brisbane. In testimony, Chehade stated, “I am a survivor of child sexual abuse, and you can look this up in the records of the Queensland Police to see there was a conviction made. […] I grew up in public housing and I also worked for the Queensland Department of Public Housing.”
Chehade earned a bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Cultural Policy Studies at Griffith University in 1994. Chehade lives in Brisbane, Australia and has owned several businesses, including shipping concerns Ocean Sky International and YouFr8 as well as Chickpea Lebanese Restaurant. In 2015, Chelade served as director of charity Para Marcia.
Chehade married Richard Chehade in ~1992 and has two children.
Anti-trans activism
Chehade has contributed many anti-trans articles to The Spectator Australia, as well as to Quillette, The Critic, and On LIne Opinion. Chehade has a Substack under the name “Edie Wyatt.”
Chehade co-hosts the anti-trans podcast Welcome to the Dollhouse with Kit Kowalski.
