Medscape is an American medical website and blog. Their reporting on trans healthcare for youth was heavily influenced by anti-trans hate group Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine.
Background
Medscape was launched May 1995, by SCP Communications. In September 1999, Medscape, Inc. began trading publicly on NASDAQ. In 2000, Medscape merged with MedicaLogic, Inc., which filed for bankruptcy about 18 months later. MedicaLogic sold Medscape to WebMD in December 2001. They published Medscape Journal of Medicine until 2008. In 2021, Medscape launched Medscape UK.
