John Koenig vs. transgender people

John Koenig is an American anti-transgender activist. Koenig was involved with Blake Sanchez in producing the Trump Administration’s 2025 anti-trans attack on gender affirming care for gender diverse youth.

Background

John A. Koenig was born in October 1960. Koenig served in the US Marines, Koenig served as an Artillery Officer from 1982 to 1992, then worked as a Program Analyst until 1995. After serving as an Operational Planner from 1997 to 1999, Koenig was an Inspector-Instructor with the 3rd Battalion, 14th Marines from 1999 to 2001.

During military service, Koenig earned a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Koenig earned a degree from the Wharton School in 2001.

Koenig was Head of the Marine Corps School of Advanced Warfighting from 2002 to 2004, then served as Chief of Policy for the United Nations Command and Combined Forces Command from 2004 to 2006. That year, Koenig was named Assistant Chief of Staff for Governance, Economic Development, Reconstruction for Multinational Forces West in Al Anbar, Iraq until 2007. Koenig was Commanding Officer for the 14th Marines from 2007 to 2009.

In 2009, Koenig joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Director, working there until 2018. In 2018, Koenig joined Guidehouse as a director.
