Paul Salkovskis is an English clinical psychologist and anti-transgender activist. Salkovskis is affiliated with anti-transgender hate group Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine.
Salkovskis’ work focuses on anxiety-related issues, including obsession, compulsion, panic, phobias, and health anxiety. Salkovskis’ areas of interest overlap with SEGM cofounder Zhenya Abbruzzese’s interest in somatizing behaviors and potential psychological origins of medically unexplained symptoms.
Background
Paul Martin Salkovskis earned a doctorate at King’s College London in 1979. Salkovskis worked as a NHS clinical psychologist in Yorkshire until 1985, then became a researcher at the University of Oxford.
Anti-trans activism
In 2025, anti-transgender hate group Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine announced that Salkovskis would be speaking at their Berlin event on the topic “Combining Social Identity and Cognitive Behavioural Theories to Understanding Stigmatization of Identity.”
