Amita Jassi is a British psychologist and anti-transgender activist. Jassi researches “obsessive-cumpulsive disorder,” “body dysmorphic disorder,” and “autism spectrum disorder” and has written on gender identity and expression in relationship to these traits.
Background
Amita Jassi earned a nachelor’s degree from Brunel University in 2002 and a doctorate from King College London in 2006. Jassi worked as a
research assistant at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust during graduate school.
Jassi worked at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust from 2006 to 2007, and was named an honorary researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry in 2008. Starting in 2008, Jassi practiced psychology at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
Anti-trans activism
Jassi presented at the 2024 conference by anti-trans hate group Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine. Jassi spoke on “Body dysmorphic disorder and gender dysphoria.”
