Simon Tegg vs. transgender people

Simon Tegg is a software engineer in Aotearoa New Zealand and an anti-transgender activist. Tegg is associated with anti-trans hate group Genspect and maintains the anti-trans resource Fully Informed.

Background

Tegg earned a master’s degree from Victoria University of Wellington in 2010. From 2011 to 2014 Tegg was a junior software engineer at Loomio Cooperative, then worked as a freeland frontend developer from 2014 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017, Tegg was a teacher at Dev Academy Aotearoa, then worked at Bamboo Creative as a senior developer. From 2017 to 2020 Tegg was technical lead at Traject, then from 2020 to 2022 served as a senior developer at Totara Learning. Tegg was a senior software engineer at Montoux from 2022 to 2024.

Anti-trans activism

In 2020, Tegg launched the anti-trans website Fully Informed.

Tegg has filed complaints against TVNZ in 2022 and Radio New Zealand in 2024 for their trans coverage. Both cases were found to be groundless.

On April 8, 2024, Tegg and Jos Rossell incorporated Genspect NZ Limited. Starting that year, Tegg began making numerous public information requests about transgender healthcare.

In September 2024. Tegg, Charlotte Paul, and  Sarah Donovan published a paper in the New Zealand Medical Journal attacking use of puberty blockers.

In 2025, Tegg signed the Protecting Puberty peitition created by Genspect.
