Many large companies offer health insurance policies that cover healthcare for our community. Many will have requirements for coverage that may include:

Many midsize and small businesses also cover transgender healthcare, but larger companies are more likely to have written policies and precedent for covering trans and gender diverse people. Please check with these companies directly, or ask a local rights organization based in the same area call to confirm.

Companies with top HRC scores

This list is based on information gathered from HRC, a US civil rights group for LGBTQ+ people. Please note that many companies with transgender health coverage do not submit information to HRC, so this list is not exhaustive. Most of the companies that submit to HRC are large publicly-traded companies with many employees.

HRC publishes an annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI). One of the measures is trans health services, which they define as “equal health coverage for transgender individuals without exclusion for medically necessary care.”

By 2020, the following companies had achieved top CEI scores on the HRC index.
